Cycle in support of patient care at RVH on Sunday, September 24, 2023. Funds raised will benefit the RVH Youth Diabetic Clinic, where close to 200 children receive care annually.
About this Campaign
Join us Sunday, September 24, 2023, for the annual Tour de T1D cycling event in support of RVH. This is not a race but instead a chance for cyclists from all over Ontario to live their wild lives, riding through the picturesque, rolling hills of Horseshoe Valley. There are 25 km, 55 km, or 100 km routes or a 5 km trail route option.
We can’t live our wild lives unless we’re healthy, which means having access to world-class, specialized care when and where we need it most. Funds raised from this event will benefit the Youth Diabetic Clinic at RVH, which provides specialized care to close to 200 children each year. Type 1 diabetes is a complex and lifelong autoimmune condition that affects one out of every three hundred children in Canada.
Incidences of type 1 diabetes are rising by approximately three percent every year. The dedicated team at the RVH Youth Diabetic Clinic is devoted to developing opportunities for children, youth, and families to connect, receive support, and learn about their condition while focusing on their overall well-being.
Diabetes has a significant impact on many different aspects of a child’s life. Your donation will help children in our region access vital care that will get them back to their wild lives while living with type 1 diabetes.
