This holiday season, will you donate again to the Keep Life Wild campaign?
In the spirit of the season, generous donors Jeff and Barb White have offered to match all gifts received by December 31 up to $50,000!

Medical Oncologist, Head of Medical Oncology
Can you imagine what it would be like to face a cancer diagnosis? Now how about during the holidays?
Many of us don’t have to imagine. While friends and family gather to celebrate and create cherished memories this time of the year, people undergoing cancer treatment often have to travel far from home, away from the support of friends and loved ones, at a time when they need them most.
Because of your generosity, Laura–whose story we shared with you a few weeks ago—didn’t have to experience that stress. With RVH close to home, she received the care she needed without having to travel long distances. Now, Laura can celebrate the holidays with her family – a reality made possible by your support.
As an oncologist at RVH, I feel honoured to care for patients like Laura during their toughest times. Having specialized care right here in Simcoe Muskoka is crucial, and I’m deeply grateful for your donation, which helps us provide the best care possible.

“Thanks to you, since I joined RVH in 2011, our team of oncologists has grown from 10 to 25, meeting the increasing demand for cancer care. Your support has been crucial in these advancements, significantly enhancing our community’s quality of life.”
But this growth isn’t just about expanding our team – it’s about deepening our commitment to each patient. Most mornings at the Hudson Regional Cancer Centre begin with a multidisciplinary team meeting where oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other experts gather to review challenging patient cases, ensuring every patient receives comprehensive care.
This collaborative approach, combined with the advanced equipment you help make possible, ensures patients timely diagnosis and the best possible treatment. Which is exactly what you, your loved ones, and our community deserve.
Thanks to your support, we’ve made significant strides for patient care. For instances, until last year, patients who needed a PET-CT scan had to travel to the GTA, facing time off work, childcare, and transportation challenges, with some even skipping the scan. Thanks to your support, we now offer this vital service locally at RVH, allowing patients to stay close to home.
As we approach the holiday season, a time for family, friends, and gratitude, we’re reminded of how much your support means to our community. Your generosity enables us to meet the growing demand for care and keep life wild here in Simcoe Muskoka. Thank you for helping us make this region a wonderful place to call home.
