Brotherly Love Inspires Braestone Winter Classic
Meet Ted Markle, one of the driving forces behind The Braestone Winter Classic – a three-on-three pond hockey tournament supporting RVH’s Hudson Regional Cancer Centre. Ted was inspired to create this event after losing his brother, Jeff, to an aggressive cancer. To date, The Braestone Winter Classic has raised more than $320,000 for specialized cancer care at RVH ensuring our patients get the treatment they need, close to home.
Mending Broken Hearts
As a cardiologist at RVH, Dr. Deif sees the impact of donor support on advanced cardiac care every day. Heart disease is the second leading cause of death in Canada, and its prevalence means that Dr. Deif and his team are planning for the future. “I am in awe of the lives we’re able to touch because of community support,” says Dr. Deif. We couldn’t agree more.
